DEMO ONLY — QP Electricians Demo

Fictional example wording — not legal advice

Last updated: 9 September 2026

1. Who we are

This demonstration website uses the fictional trading name “QP Electricians Demo”. The fictional example contact details are: 1 Example Street, Bolton, BL1 1ZZ, United Kingdom; [email protected]. These details must be replaced with the real client’s approved legal name, address and contact email before publication.

2. What information may be collected

If this were a real client website, information could be collected through the quote form, telephone calls or voicemails, website chat or messages, and appointment bookings. The quote form may request a name, email address, phone number, postcode, service required, urgency, job description and SMS consent choice. Technical information such as browser, device and cookie preferences may also be collected where applicable.

3. How information would be used

A real client would use this information to answer enquiries, assess a requested job, prepare or arrange a quote, schedule appointments, provide services, keep business records, and manage customer support. The client must confirm the lawful basis, retention period and actual service providers before launch.

4. Marketing and SMS

A service enquiry or booking does not by itself give permission for marketing. A real client should request separate, clear and optional consent for marketing email or SMS, keep a record of that consent, identify the sender and provide an unsubscribe method. Operational messages such as enquiry acknowledgements, booking confirmations and reminders may be treated differently from marketing, but the client must approve the wording and legal basis. Marketing SMS should include an appropriate opt-out such as STOP where required; replies should be honoured promptly.

5. Cookies and analytics

The demo assumes only essential cookies are used by default. A real client must identify every analytics, advertising, chat and other non-essential tool. Where consent is required, optional cookies should not be activated until the visitor makes a valid choice, and the cookie notice and preference controls must be approved before launch. Browser settings can also be used to manage cookies.

6. Sharing information

A real client may share information with the CRM, website, calendar, messaging, email, hosting and other service providers needed to operate the lead-generation system. Information would not be sold or rented. The client must identify the actual providers, review their terms and set appropriate data-processing arrangements.

7. Retention and security

The real client must define and publish an approved retention period for each category of information, then delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed. Reasonable access controls and secure account practices should be used.

8. Rights and contact

Depending on the circumstances, people may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing and to withdraw consent. Contact the real client using the approved details in the final policy. Complaints may be made to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office where applicable.

9. Updates and disclaimer

This is a fictional demo page created to show where a client’s approved policy could appear. It is not legal advice, does not create a client privacy policy and must be reviewed and replaced before a real site is published.
